Rights of a patient

• to be allowed to work and spend their spare time with other patients and personnel — they should not be left outside
• to be treated as an individual
• to be allowed to choose themselves the form of their treatment
• to be heard when conceiving new forms of treatment
• to be allowed to use their close relatives as support, and be encoureged to do this
• to be provided with the services right there where they need them
• not to have to face injustice, humiliation, or degrading attitudes
• services must be developed according to the needs of the patient, not only to serve the needs of the provider of services
• the organizational structures must be flexible
• any physical restriction has to be avoided
